1. The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to support space experiment planning and mission data analysis at the Missile Defense Space Experiment Center (MDSEC) at Colorado Springs, CO. Provides technical knowledge and experience to the MDSEC to integrate and demonstrate space contributions to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Investigates DoD and National Security Space Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities for BMDS application, collaborates across MDA, DoD, and National Security Space communities, investigates common infrastructure and capabilities to support BMDS space layer maturation. Individual would determine data requirements and conduct sensor data analysis in support of satellite sensor data collection activities. This position is analytical in nature and would include predictive analysis and modeling for characterization of system performance. Individual would support future Precision Tracking Space System (PTSS) studies and analyses.
Requires a BS degree in a technical field with 8+ years experience in a relevant operations, engineering and analysis environment. Highly desired is experience with IR and OPIR related phenomenology and/or analysis. Desired experience in missile defense, satellite/sensor operations and/or sensor design/engineering.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and ability to present concepts and designs before critical audiences are required. Some travel will be expected.
US Citizen, possession of current US government Top Secret with SCI clearance is required (must be US citizen), and willing to locate to Colorado Springs, CO. Position is on-site in government customer facility at Schriever AFB.

2. Job Description: Telecommunications Specialists (Ramstein AFB, Germany)
The Telecommunications Specialist will professionally direct, administer, provide expertise and ultimately be technically responsible for field operations activities for. He / she will direct and/or perform: all associated installation(s), testing, checkout, technical configuration(s), on the job training and organizational level repair of each applicable component associated with contractually assigned Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Resonance systems (C4ISR) and otherwise related intelligence system. He / she will strive to guarantee customer satisfaction through qualitative performance and efficient communication.
The Telecommunications Specialist directly impacts the objectives of providing operational C4ISR and otherwise related intelligence systems. As this is the case, the Telecommunications Specialist must maintain currency and continually adapt and keep current his / her technical expertise with respect to each applicable component related to the various assigned system(s). He / she is responsible for promoting customer / user goodwill, and of ensuring the capability to continue mission operations. The Telecommunications Specialist must be a self- starter and motivated. Must be able to secure and maintain a minimum of a Secret (S) clearance level for activities at Reachback Facility site in Germany. May be required to wear protective gear due to various situational exposure levels ranging between hostile threat situations to excessive noise from machines or aircraft, to frequently travel alone, to work on elevated platforms, and to lift weights up to 40 lbs. Must be able to handle routine as well as sudden job pressure and unplanned changes in schedule or assignment. Color vision is also a mandatory requirement.
Primary Requirements
To professionally direct, administer, provide expertise and take technical responsibility for field operations related to a contractually assigned C4ISR and otherwise related intelligence system. The overall goal is to ensure 24/hour mission success.
To assist the sometimes international determination of the communications connectivity architecture and its associated requirements for multilevel C4ISR and its otherwise related intelligence system.
Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing to the customer’s satisfaction, all communications problems over various multifaceted defense communications pathways and networks that interface with the associated C4ISR and its otherwise related intelligence system, while keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.
To perform fault isolation and organizational level repair of the contractually assigned C4ISR system(s) and its associated sub-systems and any of their respective internal or otherwise related components.
To insure that the various defense communication pathway (and therefore its associated data) security levels are maintained and electronically protected (I.E. encryption, firewalls, etc.).
To act as a representative to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) during planning, concept development, testing, configuration, conducting and documenting system implementation and utilization as it relates to the specific contract and its associated military requirement / need and the applicable C4ISR system.
To write technical reports to the (COR) through the contractor regarding current system performance including but not limited to: the system’s hardware, firmware and software processes. These reports can contain recognized problems, and shall contain any documented failures.
To deploy with the contractually assigned C4ISR systems, with little to no notice, to any applicable country worldwide in support of U.S. military operations.
To maintain familiarization with engineering and military specifications.
Training and Experience
The qualified Telecommunications Specialist shall have obtained a Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering plus 3 years of related training and / or directly related work experience (including military), or an Associates of Science (AS) degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering plus 7 years of related training and / or directly related work experience (including military), or 11 or more years of related training and / or directly related work experience (including military). This experience should include the ability to analyze and repair the vast majority of the related hardware, firmware and software malfunctions, to recommend and implement in-field mission changing & time sensitive requirements, and to analyze and implement preventive maintenance procedures.

Performs all essential HVAC maintenance and general maintenance at the project site. This position will require a flexible working schedule. You must be a US Citizen who is able to read, write, comprehend and speak English. Must pass U.S. Government background investigation for continued employment.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (duties and responsibilities and percentage of time spent performing functions).

PRIMARY DUTIES: Performs the maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and effects repairs on a large variety of types of refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation and heating systems equipment. The systems serve critically controlled environmental installations. Is called on to research specifications as provided by other parties and make installation corrections required ensuring proper function of equipment as required by tenant agency requirements. Must be able to operate building Energy Management Systems and perform water treatment analysis and chemical control of HVAC systems.

HVAC Technician will be responsible for all service calls and all preventive maintenance work orders assigned. HVAC Technician will also be responsible for all paperwork associated with his/her daily work.

SECONDARY DUTIES: Minor building maintenance tasks, which must be performed to proficiency, are listed herein by example, but they are not limited to the following: Makes minor adjustment and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sewage systems; architectural and structural building components; interior and exterior entrance doors; all door locks, windows, floors systems, roof systems, roof gutters, downspouts, window and floor coverings. Performs cleaning/painting and maintaining of mechanical rooms in assigned building. Performs minor touch-up painting chores consistent with preventive maintenance functions and minor repairs. Performs minor preventive maintenance functions which include, but are not limited to: Changing filters; cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils; cleaning floor drains, grease traps, roof gutters, downspouts; and changing fluorescent tubes and other light bulbs where needed. Will perform preventive maintenance on standby generators. Performs miscellaneous functions that include, but are not limited to: assemble and disassemble "systems furniture;" remove and install signs and picture frames; assist in relocating furniture and computers; and performs other similar duties.




QUALIFICATIONS (what is required to perform the job, i.e. education, experience,
skills, etc.)

This work requires the service of a skilled and knowledgeable HVAC Technician with the necessary specialized training in this field. Must be well versed in the use of many and varied types of test equipment such as volt-meters, ammeters, amp-probes, temperature testers, leak detectors, CO2 testers, vacuum gauges, and mega-meters. Must possess outstanding eye-hand coordination.

Must also have knowledge in general maintenance for all systems, equipment, and devices located in typical a typical multi-story commercial office building. They will work alone or with other journeyman craft persons on the contract. Must have practical working experience with a variety of skilled craft trades and be able to understand written and oral instructions to perform the required work. Must have a basic knowledge of each craft trade, which perform the individual functions for building operations, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities. These include electricity, carpentry, plumbing, and communication systems.

Will have at least 3-years experience of the trade of his/her trade in a facility similar in size and scope as the maintenance efforts required. The HVAC Technician must have general knowledge in troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance to all HVAC systems and devices located in typical office and laboratory facilities, including both low and high voltage. Must hold a universal license in the handling of CFC’s. Must have a general knowledge of every cycle and its components; such as electronic circuitry, high and low voltage electricity, pneumatic and electronic control systems that sense minute changes in temperature and humidity, dew points, air water and refrigerant pressures; air and water flow and overload protection. Must have skill and technical ability to interpret so as to complete installations and repairs as required and must be able to apply trade techniques to modify and execute in order to minimize equipment down-time. This is done in most cases without benefit of direct supervision. Must have a working knowledge of other trades such as: sheet metal; fire dampers, zone control, airflow volume and velocity and damper linkages. Plumbing; water and steam supply, drainage, gravity systems, condensate, water make up evaporation and human protection systems. Electric; circuit breakers, relays, solenoids, transformers, timers, electromagnetic contactors, vacuum tubes, motors and motor controls and overload protection devices. Must be proficient in all types of soldering and brazing.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (requirements to perform job satisfactorily, i.e. basic computer or math skills, or specific software knowledge, 10-key/calculator skills, or ability to read and write English, or ability to reason/problem solve, etc.):
Must have basic computer skills, to write reports and develop spread sheets.
Must be familiar with computerized maintenance management programs. Must have the ability to input and collect data from these systems.

Shall maintain and operate all plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. Maintain a good state of repair to ensure proper and efficient operations of structural and architectural components, appliance, and electrical/plumbing/heating/air conditioning systems and equipment and air compressor systems. Responsible for maintenance and repair shall assure that all facilities, structures and associated equipment and free of missing components or defects which would affect the safety or habitability of the facilities and structures or would prevent any electrical, maintenance or structural system from functioning in accordance with design intent. Shall maintain electrical equipment, distribution panels, circuit breakers, connections, grounds, outlets, switches, light fixtures, lens/gloves shall be replaced with like items of the same color/appearance. Receptacles and breakers with ground fault sensor shall be capable of properly detecting faults. Workmanship and materials shall conform to the National Fire protection Association (NFPA) 71 and National Electric Code. Maintain Generator Maintenance, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Responsible for PM’s in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
The RIM position is responsible to manage the Regional Information Office (RIO) which consists of approximately 15 – 20 employees. The Office is responsible for gathering, consolidating and delivering information in support of client needs. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager (OM), the RIM supports the effective management of all resources and schedules, planning, budgeting, deliverables and subcontractors to ensure successful performance.

The RIM will manage customer/leadership expectations and should be able to produce and deliver executive-level reports and briefings on daily, weekly and monthly basis depending on customer’s needs. All office personnel report to the RIM in a matrix environment where the Operations Center can align or move personnel to meet the mission requirements.

The RIM duties will include planning, developing, de-conflicting, and synchronizing the conduct of program needs of the contract as well as assess the objectives to provide recommendations. The RIM must have demonstrated success in managing people and processes associated with STRAT COM from start to finish and must be able to advice and mentor less experienced team members. The RIM must be available to respond to customer needs 24/7, 7 days a week.

Major Responsibilities
• Responsible for hiring and matrix managing all office personnel.
• Reports directly to the Operation Manager (OM) and supporting the effective management of all resources and schedules, program planning, budgeting, deliverables and subcontractors to ensure successful performance.
• Provides support to maintain full program/contract staffing levels, including provisions for rotations and leave absences, including the safety of all personnel.
• Program support interface to Program Manager Office including areas such as Contracts, Human Resource, Finance, IT and Security for all office activities.
• Ability to manage programs with a diverse employee/subcontractor base.
• Ability to quickly assess, prioritize, and manage the resolution of problems and issues.
• Ensure effective coordination of all activities.
• Ensure a timely response to customer requirements.
• Establish communication goals and objectives for overall contract coordination.

Required Qualifications
• Requires a BS/BA degree.
• Army or USMC prior experience in IO,, PA, and/or Strategic Communications.
• 10+ years of successful personnel and operational management experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduate of any Military Aircraft Maintenance Officers Phase II course (AMOC
Phase II) required.

2. 1000 hours first pilot time with 300 hours in specific MDS (UH-60) required.

3. Must have current or have ability to pass and maintain FAA or Military Class II flight
physical.

4. Must be able to pass hands on flight evaluation for currency.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Pilots aircraft and serves as Aircraft Commander in accomplishing maintenance test flight acceptance and support missions as prescribed by customer requirements.

b. Plans Mission. Obtains briefing information on purpose of flight test, weather, operation procedures, intelligence and special instructions. Prepare flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft, crew capabilities, threats, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.

c. Prepare and file flight clearance. Ensure the aircraft is preflight inspected, loaded, equipped and manned for mission. Inspect engines, fuselage and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness. Inspect and test mission equipment for proper operation. Ensures that weight and balance are correct, fuel supply is adequate and survival and rescue equipment is properly stowed.





d. Brief crewmembers and non-crewmembers on safety and emergency procedures and scope of mission. Pilot aircraft and command crew to accomplish assigned mission. Pilot operates controls and equipment to take off and land under varying flying conditions. Perform prescribed test maneuvers, instrument readings and records results and test specifications as prescribed by the contract or customer requirements.

e. Test both normal and emergency functions of systems. Coordinate and direct flight phases of test or support with other aircraft. Maintain flight records and reports observations made during mission. Conduct and supervise training of crewmembers. Instruct Co-pilots in operation and techniques of maintenance test flying. Orient and brief crewmembers and non-crewmembers on duties and responsibilities, flight operation and mission profile.

f. Maintain proficiency and currency requirements and perform check rides and support flight for proficiency effectiveness. 36. I am currently working in Angola with a (British) competitior of my former employer and have been asked to assist in the search for several ex mil/pol types who hold fluent Portuguese language skills in addition to being CP qualified for close protection roles in Luanda.

The contract is live and expected to continue until early 2010. The pay is $350 per day plus insurance cover along with a good standard of living conditions. On the minus side, there are no pay or allowances, apart from free travel, for any leave periods taken, nor are there any other benefits attached to the contract.
