Engineering Manager, Flight Test Operations - Moffett Field, CA Monterey Technologies Inc (MTI), Requirements: The Engineering Manager will support, and maintain responsibility for multiple unique and complex projects, that will include testing of aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS’s). The research and platform aircraft are not regulated by other administrative offices of the US Government. The projects supported by the Engineering Manager intend to advance the state-of-the-art in aero sciences and challenge the imagination, however, they involve considerable risk and must be carefully evaluated to minimize that risk while promoting project success. The Engineering Manager will have access to existing airworthiness guidelines, however, many of the projects involve technology for which standards do not exist. The Engineering Manager must possess significant knowledge of engineering and test procedures and processes, and must be able to apply personal knowledge of advanced engineering principles and the judicious use of other expert sources, to successfully achieve results Specific responsibilities for the Engineering Manager include: ◾Functionally reports directly to the NASA Ames Chief of the Aviation Management Office. ◾Serves as the aircraft manager to oversee the aircraft work order process for payload integration. ◾Reviews aircraft work order packages to ensure designs are per NASA standard and reviews and approves associated drawings and test plans as required.
